Background:
El Dorado County currently stores thousands of electronic tape cartridges, CD's and other forms of electronic media that are obsolete and no longer used.  This media can contain sensitive or confidential data that must be destroyed in the proper manner to prevent breach of security or privacy.

Reason for Recommendation:
Cross Cut Shredding will pick up our tapes from I.T. and securely take them to their facility in Hayward, California.  The media will be shredded rendering it useless and unreadable by any means.  Shortly after destruction, I.T. will receive "Certificates of Destruction" verifying the media was properly destroyed.

Action to be taken following Board approval:
1) Board Clerk shall forward one original copy of the fully executed copy of the agreement to I.T.
2) Procurement & Contracts shall create a BP for this agreement.
3) I.T. shall forward one original copy of the agreement, with letter to proceed, to the vendor.
