Mental Health Department recommending Chairman be authorized to sign Memorandum of Understanding 660-M0711 with the Office of the Public Guardian/Conservator in the Human Services Department in the amount of $90,000 for the term July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2009 to provide administrative functions for conserved adults on an "as requested" basis for said Department.

Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:The total funding for this agreement is $90,000 for the two year contract. There is no Change to Net County Cost.
Background: For several years the Public Guardian's Office has been providing administrative functions for the preservation of a conserved adult's estate and for his or her psychological and physical welfare. These services include providing assistance and collaborating with Mental Health in placing the adult in a residential facility and completing forms necessary for the placement, meeting with the conserved adult on a regular basis, maintaining complete client records regarding issues pertinent to the conservatorship, and providing their withdrawn funds to the adult when necessary.
Reason for Recommendation:This agreement will allow the Public Guardian's Office to continue to provide and bill for administrative functions for conserved adults. This agreement will cover the period July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2009.
Action to be taken following Board approval:Board Clerk's Office will forward the executed agreement to Mental Health for further processing.
