Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: No change. Funds are budgeted for FY 2007/08.

Background: The El Dorado County SB 163 Wraparound Program was established in 2001. On February 28, 2006, the Board of Supervisors approved a proposal to transfer administrative responsibility for this Program to the Department of Human Services and allow for expansion of services. The Program provides services to youth in or at risk of group home placement, at risk of being placed in higher levels of care, or at risk of losing their local residence with the goal of reducing the number of youth in higher level placements. An array of treatment and intervention services are provided in accordance with provisions of the current El Dorado County Wraparound Program Plan approved by the Board of Supervisors on September 26, 2006. These services are designed to reduce the number of children placed in out-of-county and/or group homes.

Reason for Recommendation: The Department of Human Services (DHS) receives an annual State funding allocation for the implementation and management of Senate Bill 163 Wraparound Program services.
