Title: Mental Health Department recommending Chairman be authorized to sign retroactive Agreement 620-S0711 with Shasta County, Mental Health Department, for revenue generated funding in the amount of $300,000 for the term July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2010 to provide psychiatric inpatient services at the El Dorado County Psychiatric Health Facility to residents of Shasta County over the age of eighteen who are eligible. Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:The total amount for this revenue generating agreement is $300,000 for the three year contract. There is no Change to Net County Cost.
 
Background:Like many other Northern California small counties, Shasta County utilizes El Dorado County's PHF on a fee for service basis. The payment received for the services provided cover 100% of El Dorado County's costs. This agreement is retroactive due to the time it took for Board approval in Shasta County.
 
Reason for Recommendation:This agreement will allow for Shasta County's continued use of El Dorado County's PHF for mentally disordered adults who are in need of 24 hour inpatient hospital care and treatment. This agreement will cover the period July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2010.
 
Action to be taken following Board approval:Board Clerk's Office will forward the executed agreement to Mental Health for further processing.
