Background: The FY 2007 Homeland Security Grant program has allocated $248,208 for the State Homeland Secuirty Grant Program (SHSGP) and $153,485  for the Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Program (LETPP) to El Dorado County for the FY 2007 Homeland Security Grant Program.  Total of the both programs is: $401,693.00. The County is the subgrantee and provides funding for planning, equipment, training, exercises, and management/administration costs to the Cities of South Lake Tahoe and Placerville, Sheriff's Department, Public Health, Environmental Management, Fire Districts, and other eligible local agencies.
 
Reason for Recommendation: El Dorado County applies for this grant annually.  The Sheriff's Office recently received the grant award letter and is bringing back a budget transfer establishing a budget.  Funding for this grant is $401,693.00.
 
Action to be taken following Board approval: Sheriff's Office will submit reimbursement claims for these funds as they are expended.
