Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:The total funding for this agreement is $225,000 for the two year contract. There is no Change to Net County Cost.

Background: Lincoln Child Center, Inc. has been providing specialty mental health services for emotionally disturbed minors from El Dorado County for over six years. It is a residential facility providing support 24 hours per day. Minors placed in this facility are not currently equipped to function in a family and public school setting. The program provides intensive treatment to the child and family, and focuses on reintegrating the child into an academically appropriate program in the public school system with less intensive mental health services. This is achieved by use of intensive therapy, as well as medication support and crisis intervention services when appropriate.

Reason for Recommendation:This agreement will allow for continued use of Lincoln Child Center, Inc. facilities for emotionally disturbed minors. This agreement will become effective upon execution and will expire June 30, 2009.

Action to be taken following Board approval:Board Clerk’s Office will forward the executed agreement to Mental Health for further processing.
