Reason for Recommendation:
As a response to the Angora Fire, the California Tahoe Conservancy (CTC) has made grant funding available to assist with the restoration efforts for the Angora Fire Emergency Restoration Project (Project) within the County of El Dorado’s (County) jurisdictional area. Based on the latest version of the CTC Soil Erosion Control Grant Program Guidelines, the County Board of Supervisors (Board) must adopt a Resolution demonstrating its commitment to the Project and the objectives and assurances (see attached) of this CTC Grant Program. The Transportation Department (Department) has worked closely with Supervisor Santiago on this item.

If the CTC Board approves the Department’s site improvement grant request, the County will need to enter into a grant agreement with the CTC for this Grant Program. Therefore, County Counsel and the Board will have an opportunity to approve the final grant agreement. The purpose of this Resolution is only to demonstrate to the CTC’s Board the County’s commitment to the Project and the objectives and assurances of this CTC Grant Program.

Action to be taken following Board approval:
1. Upon County Counsel approval, the Chairman will sign the Resolution and the Board Clerk will forward the signed Resolution to the Department to transmit a copy to the CTC.
