Chief Administrative Office, Procurement and Contracts Division, recommending award of Bid 08-910-002 to Jani-King of California, Inc. in the amount of $51,984 to provide janitorial services for the Mental Health Department at the Psychiatric Health Facility; and Chairman be authorized to sign Agreement 425-S0811 with same in the amount of $51,984 for the term October 1, 2007 through September 30, 2009 to provide selected janitorial services for the Mental Health Department located at 935-B Spring Street in Placerville.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve.

REASON FOR RECOMMENDATION: At the request of the Mental Health Department, the Procurement and Contracts Division issued an Invitation to Bid for the purpose of hiring a janitorial services firm to provide janitorial services at the Psychiatric Health Facility in Placerville.
Ten (10) Invitations to Bid were mailed, four (4) responses were received. The results of the bid are as follows:

The Procurement and Contracts Division received the signed contracts from the requesting department on September 10, 2007 resulting in the timing of this item to be one (1) day retroactive.
Your Board is being asked to make findings that it is more economical and feasible to contract out the needed work in accordance with County Ordinance 3.13 as the Mental Health Department does not possess the trained personnel to perform the janitorial services.
The County Officer of employee with responsibility for administering the agreement is Marlene Hensley, Program Manager, Psychiatric Health Facility, Mental Health Department.
FISCAL IMPACT/CHANGE TO NET COUNTY COST: Procurement and Contracts has been advised that funding is available withing the Mental Health Department's budget from Medi-Cal and Realignment funds.
