Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:The total funding for this agreement is $268,000 for the two year contract. There is no Change to Net County Cost.
 
Background: Milhous Children's Services has been providing specialty mental health services for emotionally disturbed minors from El Dorado County for over five years. It is a level 14 (the highest level) residential treatment facility, and provides support 24 hours per day. Minors placed in this facility are not currently equipped to function in a family setting. Treatment provided includes Day Treatment Intensive, Medication Support Services, Crisis Intervention and Family Therapy.
 
Reason for Recommendation:This agreement will allow for continued use of Milhous Children's Services' facilities for emotionally disturbed minors. This agreement will cover the period July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2009.
 
This agreement is retroactive to July 1, 2007, due to the time it took for the vendor to provide the required insurance certification and also to sign and return the agreement.
 
The Purchasing Agent concurs with the department's request noting that this contract was initiated prior to the adoption of the revised procurement policy in March of 2007 and is therefore not subject to the requirements set forth therein.
 
Action to be taken following Board approval:Board Clerk's Office will forward the executed agreement to Mental Health for further processing.
