Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
The cost of this Contract Change Order # 06 Supplemental # 01 is $57,929.11, which will be funded by the Road Fund. There is no cost to the County General Fund.

Background:
The Board awarded the Project construction contract to White Rock Construction, Inc. in the amount of $2,381,824.70 on January 30, 2007. The Department has issued Contract Change Orders # 01-06 for a total amount of $44,813.54 and now needs to issue Contract Change Order # 06 Supplemental # 01 for $57,929.11, which exceeds the Department’s Change Order authority.

Reason for Recommendation:
The construction of the Apalachee Phase 3A Erosion Control Project (Project) is underway. The Transportation Department (Department) has determined that the Contractor will have to do pavement restoration for the Project due to the age of the pavement, which has deteriorated over time. The estimated costs for the new paving and the preparation work include utility adjustments, raising to grade storm drain manholes, sewer manholes and valves, and all preparation work required beyond the removal and disposal of the existing pavement.
