Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: Allocation approved in 07/08 budget.
 
Background:
 
Reason for Recommendation: The Public Health Department has requested that the position of Epidemiologist be re-established.  Due to increased needs in the County for analysis of the causes and transmission of diseases this position is necessary.
 
The salary range for this position is equal to Public Health Microbiologist, and will be maintained commensurate with this relationship.
 
Action to be taken following Board approval: Human Resources will ensure that the approved job specification is added to the County's website, will ministerially amend the salary table and initiate a recruitment as requested.
