Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: There is no impact on net county cost.

Background: On April 17, 2007 agenda item #14 (07-518) the Board awarded to Thomas Haen Company the South Lake Tahoe Animal Shelter remodel project Agreement 017-C0899. On June 5, 2007 agenda item #47 the Board approved Change Order #1 to Agreement 017-C0899, which authorized changes to the kennel area; slab walls, heating, acoustics and overall facility access together with the addition of an office for a total increase in the contract amount of $104,106.

Change Order #2 to Agreement 017-C0899, proposes the addition of dog and cat kennels, modifications to the sewer service and exterior retaining wall, additional water proofing and insulation, and modifications to pet bathing areas and drains. Items deleted under this change include skylights, fencing, filters, plumbing drains and grates. Change Order #2 would result in an increase in the contract amount by $86, 492.58.

A majority of the funding for these Change Orders #1 and #2 are funded through the contribution by Comic Relief of $154,466.00.
