Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
This grant will provide $408,000.00 to the Angora Fire Emergency Rehabilitation Projects. There is no cost to the County General Fund.

Reason for Recommendation:
The subject grant is an emergency grant which will provide $408,000.00 in grant funding to be used for portions of the Angora Fire Emergency Rehabilitation Projects. The California Tahoe Conservancy (CTC) Governing Board approved the subject grant during their August meeting. This grant will be funded under the CTC's Soil Erosion Control Grant Program. The Transportation Department (Department) is working with various other agencies on a coordinated rehabilitation effort being planned for implementation prior to the start of the 2007/2008 winter season.

The Project areas are located in eastern El Dorado County, in the Tahoe Basin, west of U.S. Highway 50. The Project areas are generally bounded by Angora Creek to the north and North Upper Truckee Road to the south. The Projects extend to the west of Mount Rainier Drive/Pyramid Circle and to the east of Mountain Meadow Drive. The Project areas include Mountain View Estates Unit Nos. 1, 2, 3, & 4.
