General Services Department recommending Chairman be authorized to sign Amendment 2 to Agreement 613-S0611 with Jon Schleicher dba Hangtown Fire Control in a not to exceed amount of $57,500 for a term commencing April 20, 2006 through April 19, 2008 revising the scope of services and clarifying compensation for fire suppression services for County-owned and leased facilities.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve.

Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: No change. Funding is available in General Services FY 07/08 Building Maintenance operations budget for County owned facilities. Funding for leased facilities shall be provided through FY 07/08 budget for the individual department.

Reason for Recommendation: General Services Department recommending Chairman be authorized to sign Amendment II to Agreement 613-S0611 with Jon Schleicher dba Hangtown Fire Control amending the scope of services and clarifying compensation for services by replacing Exhibit "C" with Exhibit "D" to include additional locations and equipment for fire suppression services, and adding a bill to address to streamline the billing process for County owned and leased facilities. There is no increase to compensation, which remains at a not to exceed amount of $57,500.00. In addition, there is no change to the term of the Agreement which provides for a two-year term, commencing April 20, 2006 and terminating on April 19, 2008.

The Purchasing Agent concurs with the department's request noting that this contract amendment was initiated prior to the March, 2007 procurement policy revision regarding Purchasing Agent review of contract amendments and is therefore not subject to the requirement.

The Amendment II to the Agreement has been approved by County Counsel and Risk Management. The County Officer or employee with responsibility for administering this Agreement is Bruce Pease, Building Operations Mananger, or successor.
