Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:The total funding for this agreement is $65,700 for the two year contract. Funding is provided by Medi-Cal, EPSDT and Realignment. There is no Change to Net County Cost.

Background: In March 2007 the Mental Health Department contracted with Heritage Oaks Hospital, Inc. to provide acute psychiatric inpatient services to children and adolescents. After the adoption of the contract, the State requested that a change be made in the way the contract was structured. Previously, the contract only provided for payment of the physician's fees; the actual hospital bill was deducted by the State from realignment funds that were to be paid to the County. The amended contract will provide for the County to reimburse the hospital directly for the daily bed rate, as well as the physician's fees incurred during a stay.

Reason for Recommendation:This amendment will allow the Mental Health Department to pay the vendor directly for services.

Action to be taken following Board approval:Board Clerk's Office will forward the executed amendment to Mental Health for further processing.
