Recorder Clerk-Registrar of Voters recommending Resolution approving the grant funding application to Secretary of State for funding available through "Help America Vote Act (HAVA) Section 301 Voting Systems Program" in the amount of $504,124,45 to assist with implementation of Section 301 requirements; and recommending the Recorder Clerk-Registrar of Voters, or his designee, be authorized as agent to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents, including, but limited to applications, Standard Agreement with attachments, payment requests, etc. necessary for the completion of aforementioned project.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution 287-2007.

Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: None
Background: On March 14, 2006 the Board of Supervisors approved, and the Chairman signed Resolution #078-2006 approving a contract with the Secretary of State for distribution of $1,095,674.94 in HAVA Section 301 federal grant funding.
El Dorado County utilized $591,550.49 of the $1,095,674.94 originally awarded. The Secretary of State has issued a new contract for the remaining $504,124.45 currently available and is requesting a Resolution reflecting this change.
Reason for Recommendation: The previous contract has expired and the Secretary of State is requiring a new contract along with a Board Resolution reflecting the revised dollar amount.
