Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: No change to net County cost. These funds are included in the Department's 2007-08 budget.

Reason for Recommendation: The University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) is recommending Chairman be authorized to sign an agreement with The Regents of the University of California in the amount of $68,312 (salary and benefits) for the period of October 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008. The agreement is for the management and coordination of educational programs of the Master Gardener's and Master Food Preserver's and to enhance the knowledge of El Dorado County residents regarding: integrated pest management (IPM), sustainable food production, safe food preservation, food safety, water quality and agricultural and environmental literacy. This agreement identifies the mutual interest in supporting and strengthening these programs and enhancing the knowledge and capabilities of the County residents to address related issues. The University shall employ a Program Representative to achieve this goal. The County will provide funding to the University for a Program Representative.
