Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: There is no increase in net County cost. The approved FY 2007-08 Development Services budget includes $100,000 in funding for this agreement. The remainder will be covered through departmental savings.

Background:

Housing Element Law §65588 requires each local government to review and revise its housing element as appropriate, but not less than every five years. The schedule for the upcoming revision of jurisdiction within the Sacramento Area Council of Governments, which includes El Dorado County, is set forth in §65588(e)(4). The evaluation is required to include the assessment of current housing goals, objectives, and policies in contributing to the attainment of the state housing goals; the effectiveness of the housing element in attainment of the community's housing goals and objectives; and the county’s progress in implementation of the housing element. The revision shall address the findings of the evaluation of the current housing element. Each revision is required to be reviewed and certified by the State Housing and Community Development Department for consistency with State Housing Law.
