Public Health Department Director requesting authorization to sign retroactive Comprehensive Drug Court Implementation (CDCI) Dependency Drug Court Grant Award Agreement DDC 07/08-09 with the State of California, Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs in the amount of $102,954 for the term July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008 to provide funding for Dependency Drug Court services.

Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: Funding is included in Public Health's FY 2007/08 Alcohol/Drug Treatment budget. There is no Net County Cost.
Background: The Public Health Department, in collaboration with the Department of Human Services and the El Dorado County Superior Court, oversees the Dependency Drug Court Program which provides treatment for parents whose substance abuse contributes to child abuse and/or neglect resulting in involvement with juvenile court dependency proceedings. Funding for this program is provided by a CDCI Agreement from the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs.
Reason for Recommendation: The attached Agreement provides funding in the amount of $102,954 for the Dependency Drug Court Program for FY 07/08. This Agreement is retroactive to July 1, 2007 due to late receipt of grant documents from the State.
Action to be taken following Board approval:
Director to sign three (3) copies of the attached Agreement;
Department to forward document to State for final execution;
Department to receive fully executed document from the State, copy & forward to BOS Clerk.
