Background: On October 17, 2006, the Board awarded RFP #06-952-128 to New Morning Youth and Family Services for the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) Family-Centered Services Program for a term to expire June 30, 2008 in an amount not to exceed $263,953. The body of the agenda item also included a request for authorization for the Purchasing Agent to execute the Agreement upon approval by County Counsel and Risk Management.
Reason for Recommendation: The Agreement was ultimately processed for an amount not to exceed $134,827, with a term to expire on July 31, 2008, one month longer than the Board originally approved. The Board is asked to ratify this extended term. In addition, because the request to delegate authority to the Purchasing Agent to execute the Agreement was included in the body of the item rather than specifically listed as a recommended action, the Board is also asked to ratify the signature of the Assistant Chief Administrative Officer, who signed in the Purchasing Agent's absence.
