Title

Background:
In 2006, at the request of the Human Services Department, Procurement and Contracts solicited competitive proposals to hire a qualified individual or firm to provide Business Services under the Workforce Investment Act Program. On December 12, 2006, the Board awarded the bid to Job One and subsequently approved an agreement for services for a not to exceed amount of $90,000 with a one year term to expire December 15, 2007. Procurement and Contracts has prepared Amendment I to the subject agreement.

Reason for Recommendation:
In accordance with Board of Supervisors Policy C-17, Section 7.4.2, the Purchasing Agent concurs with the department's request to amend this agreement. Amendment I calls for a six (6) month term extension and an increase in compensation for a total not to exceed amount of $180,000 to allow for continued provision of Workforce Investment Act Rapid Response Business Service Activities.

The Purchasing Agent has coordinated the review of the contractor's qualifications to perform the needed services with Samuel Driggers, Economic Development Coordinator of the Chief Administrative Office. The Purchasing Agent concurs that Job One has demonstrated its ability to perform the work based on prior experience with this contractor, qualifications of the contractor, and the availability of the contractor to perform the services.
