Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: $1,175.60 from General Fund - General Services departmental budget.
Background: The Board awarded the construction contract to Golden Bay Fence plus Iron Works, Inc. in the amount of $218,975.00 on May 1, 2007, Agenda item #12. Contract Change Order #1 would result in an increase in the contract amount by $23,512.00.
Reason for Recommendation: This increase in the project cost is the result of design changes in the alignment, increases in material costs, together with added security features at the gated entrance. The Change Order would result in a new total contract amount of $242,487.00.
Action to be taken following Board approval: The Acting Director of General Services will execute Contract Change Order #1 with the contractor.
