Background/Reason for Recommendation:
On May 3, 2005, the Board approved an agreement with Peterson Consulting for legislative advocacy services at the State level.  That agreement expired on January 1, 2008.  The Board is asked to approve a new agreement with Peterson Consulting to cover the current legislative session, and to make findings that state advocacy services are more economically and feasibly performed by outside independent consultants in accordance with El Dorado County Charter, Section 210 (b) (6) because the necessary specialized skills are not are not currently available through County staff.

This agreement is retroactive to January 2, 2008, due to delays in securing current certificates of insurance from the consultant.

The agreement has been approved by County Counsel.

Action to be taken following Board approval: The Chief Administrative Office will secure Risk Management approval of the contract and forward the originals to the Chair for signature.
