Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: There is no change in Net County Cost

Background: At the request of the Environmental Management Department, the Procurement and Contracts Division issued a Request for Qualifications and Statement of Interest during May 2007, for the purpose of hiring three contractors to provide construction maintenance of the Union Mine Disposal Site on an "as needed" basis. In addition to staff in Environmental Management, staff from the Department of Transportation reviewed the contractors' qualifications and concurred that Doug Veerkamp, Joe Vicini, and Macauley Construction have all demonstrated their ability to perform the work based on prior experience with these contractors, qualifications of the contractors, and the availability of the contractors to perform the services.

On June 26, 2007, the Board gave the Director of Environmental Management authorization to execute contract 016-PW-07/08 with Macauley Construction to provide "as-needed" construction maintenance services to the Union Mine Disposal Site.


Reason for Recommendation: The Purchasing Agent issued a competitive request for qualifications for the provision of these services in May, 2007. Your Board approved the award of the subject RFQ on June 26, 2007, item #48.
