Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: None. Application for the Grant and adoption of this resolution does not result in a fiscal impact to the County. If the grant is awarded there will be a 11.47% match requirement.

Possible sources for the match include residual funding from the recently completed El Dorado Trail project or future grant opportunities such as those offered by the El Dorado County Air Quality Management District DMV grant, which will be offered in March, 2008.

Background: The El Dorado County Transportation Commission released a Call for Projects for Transportation Enhancement fund sources. There is $480,000 available in Transportation Enhancement funds targeted for El Dorado County.

Reason for Recommendation: This project provides an alternate route for bicyclists and pedestrians wishing to travel to and from Silva Valley Parkway and El Dorado Hills Blvd. Development of this route would help reduce traffic on the two main thoroughfares and provides non-vehicular links between Stonegate Village and Governors Village to the west. Ultimately the concept is to construct the trail from Folsom to Rescue. This would be the first segment of that trail.
