Background:
The fourteen member El Dorado County Commission on Aging (COA) serves a dual role as advisory council to both the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors and the El Dorado County Area Agency on Aging, as designated by the California Department of Aging, on all matters relative to senior services in El Dorado County (Planning and Service Area 29). The makeup of this advisory council is prescribed. Five members are appointed by the COA as Community Representatives, each incorporated city appoints one member, each supervisor appoints one member and the Board of Supervisors as a whole appoints a member-at-large who serves a two-year term and may be reappointed at the pleasure of the Board.
Reason for Recommendation:
Irene Arnold has been an active and productive member of the El Dorado County Commission on Aging since 1998, serving as the Board appointed Member-at-Large. She wishes to continue to serve in that capacity and will remain an asset to this advisory council. The current COA roster is attached.
Action to be taken following Board approval:
Board Clerk to notify Irene Arnold of the appointment, with a copy to Human Services, Community Services Division.
