Background:
Reason for Recommendation:
The El Dorado County Public Housing Authority provides rental assistance to income qualified households through the Housing Choice Voucher program to help them obtain safe and affordable rental housing. Northstar Supported Living Services, Inc. assists individuals with developmental disabilities to overcome barriers and enhance their quality of life. One common barrier for this population is obtaining safe and affordable housing. Establishing a cooperative relationship between the El Dorado County Public Housing Authority and Northstar Supported Living Services, Inc. recognizes and encourages the link between housing and the supportive services provided by Northstar and will potentially help mutual clients become successful in overcoming this barrier.
Memorandum of Understanding #237-S0810 and the Blue Routing Sheet are attached and on file with the Board Clerk.
Action to be taken following Board approval:
Board Chair to provide Procurement and Contracts with two copies of MOU # 237-S0810 with Northstar Supported Living Services, Inc. signed by the Chairman.
