Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: The total not to exceed amount of this agreement is $1,600,000 for the two year contract term. There is no change to Net County Cost.

Services provided under this contract are mandated entitlements and the state is legally required to pay for them in accordance with established formulas. Funding for the current fiscal year is secure. Funding beyond this fiscal year may be subject to changes in how Medi-Cal services are reimbursed by the state. However, the Governor’s recently submitted proposed budget will likely have only minimal impacts on the Department’s funding for these services.

Background: The Mental Health Department has contracted with Sierra Child and Family Services, Inc. to provide specialty mental health services for children on an "as requested" basis for over five years. These services include psychological testing, individual and group therapy, therapeutic behavioral services and crisis intervention. The current contract was approved by the Board on June 26, 2007.
