Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:  None.  The Sheriff's operating budget for FY07/08 has funding appropriated to cover the $71,303 that will be paid this fiscal year.  The grand total not-to-exceed amount for this Agreement has been identified as $471,812.37 over a 5-year period.  The Sheriff will continue to annually budget for this expense in upcoming fiscal years.

Background: The Sheriff's Office originally entered into an agreement with Tracnet Corporation in 1996 for ongoing hardware and software maintenance.  The original agreement (#158-S9711) has had six (6) ammendments processed to it over the past several years.  Tracnet supports the Sheriff's Records Management System, Computer Aided Dispatch, Jail Management, Jail Biometric ID system, Mobile CAD, Communication Van CAD, Cellular Emergency 911 Mapping and many programs that enable the Sheriff to interface within programs.

Reason for Recommendation:  For reasons of clairty, both the vendor and El Dorado County Counsel opted to draft a new agreement (#714-S0811) to more clearly identify rate increases and programs covered under the agreement.  All upgrades to the maintenance plan made by Amendments one through six to the License Agreement are incorporated in the new agreement.

Action to be taken following Board approval:  The Chair and the Board Clerk will sign the Agreement.
