Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
Current funding level expected to be the same as FY 07/08 OES at $172,086.  Based on salary and benefit projections along with administrative operating costs there is an anticipated net county cost of $2,563.  The funding provided by OES will cover the majority of salary and benefit expense along with the mandatory conference as required by the RFA.  The balance of expenses is due to telephone, memberships, rental & lease of equipment, mileage and fuel purchases and building utilities.

Reason for Recommendation:  The District Attorney's Victim Witness Assistance Program has operated for many years from our offices in Placerville and South Lake Tahoe.  Funding is provided through the Governor's Office of Emergency Services in Sacramento.

The FY 08/09 grant will provide funding for the current program for an additional year.

Action to be taken following Board approval:  Submission of the grant application to OES.
