Title
Chief Administrative Office recommending the Board adopt a support position for Senate Bill 1308, and authorize the Chief Administrative Office to prepare letters of support under Board Chairman's signature to the Chairs of all legislative committees that may hear this bill.

Body
Background: Senator Dave Cox has introduced Senate Bill 1308 which increases the California Disaster Assistance Act reimbursement rate for the Angora Fire from 75% to 100% of eligible costs.  If this bill should become law, El Dorado County will receive approximately $225,000 in additional reimbursement for Angora Fire related response and recovery activities.

Reason for Recommendation:  This legislation has been referred to the Senate Governmental Organization Committee and may be heard on or after March 22.  Typically, the Senate Governmental Organization Committee meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.  Consequently, SB 1308 could be heard on March 25.

Action to be taken following Board approval: The Chief Administrative Office will forward the attached letter to Senator Florez, Chair of the Governmental Organization Committee, as well as Senator Cox, Assemblyman Gaines and Peterson Consulting, and monitor the progress of this bill through the Legislature.
