Background: The Public Health Department has requested revisions to the current classification specification for Animal Control Officer I/II.
Reason for Recommendation: It is necessary to review and modify classification specifications in order to maintain and update the County's classification plan. The proposed revisions update the minimum qualifications for the positions. Currently, newly hired Animal Control Officers are required to successfully complete a California State Humane Officer Academy by the Department. This proposed change memorializes this requirement, and provides for a required time frame of successful post hire completion of said training.
Action to be taken following Board approval: The Human Resources Department will update the classification file for this classification specification.
