Background:
IT manages several agreements for sole source software licenses.  These agreements are perpetual and their extension is approved annually by the Board. This contract is one of those perpetual agreements and was approved for extension on 02/26/08, item 08-0192.  Negotiations with the vendor for pricing have delayed the processing of an amendment.  The vendor has provided a letter stating that pricing is valid through April 30, 2008.

Reason for Recommendation:
Information Technologies has been contracting for the license of Compuware Corporation products since 1992.  Currently, we use two (2) products: File-Aid / Batch and File-Aid SPF, both of which are used heavily by Systems & Programming staff for problem identification in connection with production programs, testing and development.  The software products are critical to maintenance of County application systems.

Action to be taken following Board approval:
1) Board Clerk's Office to forward fully executed amendment to Information Technologies for distribution to vendor.

2) Procurements & Contracts to issue purchase order to Compuware in the amount of $5,292 for annual payment.
