Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:  There is no increase in net County cost and therefore does not affect the Development Services Department budget.

Background:  On February 5, 2008, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution 25-2008 establishing the membership and setting forth the responsibilities of the Building Industry Advisory Committee (BIAC).  On March 4, 2008, the Board of Supervisors reaffirmed their appointments and appointed one "at large" member, thereby leaving one vacancy.  Since that time Development Services has received a request from Tim Newell to be appointed as an "at large" member to the BIAC.

Reason for Recommendation:  The appointment will complete the formation of the BIAC, leaving two vacancies for the alternate "at large" members.

Action to be taken following Board approval:  Upon approval of the representative, the Development Services Department will contact Mr. Newell.  The Notice of Vacancy will be changed to indicate two alternate "at large" vacancies.  Upon receipt of interest, the Development Services Department will request the Board of Supervisors appoint the interested persons to the alternate "at large" vacancies.
