Public Health Department recommending Chairman be authorized to sign Amendment II to Agreement for Services 228-S0711 (533-PHD0606) with Sandra Dunn, dba Sandra Dunn and Associates, increasing compensation by $64,600 to $304,600 and extending the term through December 31, 2008 for continued complex project management services in support of the El Dorado County Safety Net Provider Network ACCEL Initiative.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve.

Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: Funding is from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), Blue Shield of California, and California Healthcare Foundation (CHFC) grants. There is no net County cost.
Background: Sandra Dunn & Associates has been supporting the goals of the ACCEL Initiative by providing project management services for several years. During that time, significant progress has been made in the effort to establish an electronic health record and patient identifier system in El Dorado County. Sandra Dunn is working closely with Department staff, Barton Memorial Hospital, Marshall Medical Center, EDC Department of Mental Health and the El Dorado Community Health Center to complete this project while managing the various grants and funding sources to ensure the continuation of this work.
Reason for Recommendation: The current agreement will expire on June 30, 2008. However, the Department continues to need these services and does not want to interrupt the work that is underway. This amendment extends the term an additional six months and increases the compensation amount accordingly. This agreement will continue the services through the completion of the current grant funding from AHRQ, Blue Shield and CHCF.
Action to be taken following Board approval: chair to sign three (3) copies of amendment; Board Clerks Office to return to Public Health, Department to distribute as appropriate.
