Background: The 2007-08 Grand Jury Final Report Part 1 includes several reports on County programs and facilities that require a response from the Board of Supervisors per Penal Code. Topics covered by the Grand Jury include Assisting Road Repair Community Service Districts, the Clean Tahoe Program, the Placerville and South Lake Tahoe Jails, and the Placerville and South Lake Tahoe Juvenile Halls. County departments including Transportation, Environmental Management, Sheriff, General Services, and Probation have assisted with this response.
The Board received and filed the Initial Draft Response to Part 1 on May 13, 2008 with no changes.
The Grand Jury Foreman has been notified of the day and time of this agenda item, and has been given a copy of this memo and the Final Draft Response per Board of Supervisors Policy A-11.
Action to be taken following Board approval: Staff will submit the Final Response to the Superior Court Presiding Judge and distribute and publicize the Final Response in accordance with Board of Supervisors policy B-10. The Penal Code deadline for submittal to the Judge is June 30, 2008.
