Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: No Change. El Dorado County will receive payment from the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) for any services provided relative to Alpine County's adoption cases based on annual reports submitted by El Dorado County to CDSS.
Reason for Recommendation: El Dorado County has historically entered into various cooperative agreements with Alpine County in order to assist this much smaller county to better serve its vulnerable residents. The Department of Human Services (DHS) prepared MOU #783-M0810 with Alpine County to continue the cooperative relationship established in 2006 via Agreement for Services #482-S0611 which enables the DHS Child Protective Services Program to provide certain services to facilitate adoption processes for Alpine County clients. The MOU will automatically renew for successive one (1) year terms unless terminated pursuant to the terms and conditions contained therein. County Counsel and Risk Management have approved MOU #783-M0810. Copies of the Blue Route and MOU are attached and on file with the Board Clerk.
Action to be taken following Board approval: Board Clerk to forward two (2) originals of executed MOU #783-M0810 to the Department of Human Services, Social Services Division, at 3057 Briw Ridge Road, Suite A, Placerville, CA 95667.
