Chief Administrative Office recommending Chairman be authorized to sign Agreements with the following for indigent defense/conflict panel services:
(1) Adam Weiner, Esq.;
(2) Acton Law Corporation;
(3) John J. Castellanos, Esq.;
(4) James Stillman Clark, Esq.;
(5) Dain Weiner, Esq.;
(6) Erik Davenport, Esq.;
(7) Lori G. London, Esq.;
(8) Gilbert E. Maines, Esq.;
(9) Paul I. Palant, Esq.; and
(10) Erik Schlueter, Esq.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve.

Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: Funding has been included in the FY 2008-09 proposed budget for these agreements.
Reason for Recommendation:
County Counsel conducted meetings in both Placerville and South Lake Tahoe with the Attorneys and Judges to discuss how the process has been working and current economic conditions. Subsequent to those meetings, the attached agreements were drafted and have been sent to the Attorneys for review and signature maintaining funding at the FY 2007-08 level with no increase in the monthly payment. This funding continues for two subsequent years with the option to renegotiate if economic conditions improve. The agreements are with the following Attorneys:

Action to be taken following Board approval:
Board Chair will sign two copies of each of the 10 agreements.
Signed agreements will be sent to the CAO's office who will forward one fully executed agreement to each attorney.
