Travel is funded entirely through participant contributions. Funds are included in the FY 2008/09 County Budget Request.

Reason for Recommendation:
Human Services, Community Services Division, coordinates group tours for seniors as a component of the senior activities program. This program provides a variety of recreational activities and educational opportunities designed for seniors. All West Coachlines is one of several vendors that provide charter motorcoach transportation and reservation services for senior group activities. The Department has contracted with this vendor since 1999 to provide senior group activities services an on "as requested" basis, to the satisfaction of the Department and the seniors. Copies of the Blue Route and Agreement are attached and on file with the Board Clerk.

Purchasing Agent Recommendations:
Human Services coordinated the outside review of the contractor’s qualification to perform the needed services with Mindy Jackson, Director of the El Dorado County Transit Authority. The Chief Administrative Officer, on behalf of the Purchasing Agent, concurs that the Department’s request is in compliance with Board of Supervisors Procurement Policy C-17, Sections 7.5, and 7.10.
