Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: No additional impact. Funds were approved in the departmental budget for FY 2007-08 and have been included in the FY 2008-09 proposed budget request.

Reason for Recommendation: This agreement is to extend the term of the existing agreement for one (1) year beginning July 1, 2008 and continuing through June 30, 2009. The County will provide funding to the University who will employ the Program Representative. This will continue the management and coordination of educational programs of the Master Gardener's and Master Food Preserver's, enhancing the knowledge of El Dorado County residents regarding: integrated pest management (IPM), sustainable food production, safe food preservation, food safety, water quality and agricultural and environmental literacy. This agreement identifies the mutual interest in supporting and strengthening these programs and enhancing the knowledge and capabilities of the County residents to address related issues.

Action to be taken following Board approval: The Chairman to sign two original amendments keeping one signed copy and returning the other signed copy to the UCCE Department, Attention: Nancy Starr.
