Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: The total funding for this agreement is $107,826 for the one year contract. There is no Change to Net County Cost.

Background: In November 2004, California voters passed Proposition 63, the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA). The County developed a Community Services and Supports (CSS) plan to determine how a portion of MHSA financing would be used. In January 2006, the Board of Supervisors (BOS) approved the three-year CSS plan for submission to the California Department of Mental Health (DMH) and the County’s CSS plan was formally approved by the State on April 28, 2006.

One of the programs identified in the County’s CSS plan is a Latino outreach and engagement program. The Mental Health Department (MHD) has contracted with SLT Family Resource Center since October, 2006 to obtain assistance for implementation in South Lake Tahoe of the Latino outreach component of the County’s overall MHSA program. This contract provides outreach, mental health, and related services on an "as requested" basis.

Reason for Recommendation: This agreement will allow for continued use of the SLT Family Resource Center to assist in the implementation of Latino outreach and engagement component of the MHSA approved CSS plan. ...
