Funding is available within the current Capital Improvements Program budget for this project.
Background: On July 20, 2004, Agenda Item #33, the Board approved Agreement #032-S0511 with Brian Shinault Architects, Inc. for architectural services associated with the South Lake Tahoe Animal Control remodel project, in the amount of $38,250.00. The Board further approved Amendment I to the Agreement on February 15, 2005, Agenda Item #15, increasing the scope of work and compensation by $24,000, resulting in a total contract amount of $62,250.00. Amendment II to the Agreement provides additional compensation in the amount of $5,000.00, resulting in a total contract amount of $67,500.00 to cover costs associated with a hydrology study, preparation of additional drainage and grading plan details together with final changes as a result of agency plan checks.
Reason for Recommendation: Amendment II to the Agreement is necessary to compensate the contractor for additional design and plan preparation services as required to secure the permits and finalize the project.
Action to be taken following Board approval: Chairman to sign Amendment II to Agreement 032-S0511 and Board Clerk will forward an original for General Services to complete the administrative process of the contract.
