Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: Funding was estimated in the FY 2008-09 Alcohol/Drug Treatment budget prior to receipt of Grant Notice; adjustment to FY 2008-09 to accommodate actual grant amount will be addressed in the FY 2008-09 Budget Addenda process. There is a 20% County match requirement of $18,532 which is to be covered by in-kind services funded by Index Code 404142 using Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment (SAPT) Federal Block Grant funding. There is no net County Cost.

Background: The Public Health Department, in collaboration with the Department of Human Services and the El Dorado County Superior Court, oversees the Dependency Drug Court Program which provides treatment for parents whose substance abuse contributes to child abuse and/or neglect resulting in involvement with juvenile court dependency proceedings. Funding for this program is provided by a CDCI Agreement from the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs.

Reason for Recommendation: The grant notice (DDC-08/09-09) provides funding in the amount of $92,659 for the Dependency Drug Court Program for FY 2008-2009. This Agreement is retroactive to July 1, 2008 due to routing/procedural i...
