Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
The Board previously approved Agreement for Services #AGMT 07-1588 with William A. Reid, AIA, Architects (Reid) in the amount of $100,000. Two items of work were completed by Reid prior to the time he ceased doing business and payment of $14,055 was made to Reid for these services. The balance remaining to complete the work under Agreement #AGMT 07-1588 is $85,945 and is to be completed under this assignment agreement and has been included in the fiscal year 2008-09 Road Fund budget. Therefore, this request does not result in any additional costs being incurred over the amount previously approved by the Board.
Background:
At the Board of Supervisors meeting on December 4, 2007, Agenda Item # 9, your Board approved Agreement for Services #AGMT 07-1588 with William A. Reid dba William A. Reid, AIA, Architects in the amount of $100,000 for the design and construction oversight of the Department of Transportation's Headington Road equipment wash facility.
Reason for Recommendation:
Reid has ceased doing business as a sole proprietor and is now working for Stafford-King-Wiese Architects (Stafford). He has asked the County to accept an assignment of Agreement for Services #AGMT 07-1588 to Stafford in order for Stafford to complete the work under the Agreement....
