Background:
On July 10, 2007, Agenda Item 22, the Board awarded a contract to Cunningham Engineering Corporation, in the amount of $165,000, for Phase 1 of design services, consisting of a 30% design, on the Sacramento Placerville Transportation Corridor (SPTC) Class 1 Bike Path from Missouri Flat Road to Forni Road Project.

On March 4, 2008 the Board approved Amendment I to this contract, which served to bring the design plans to 100%.

Amendment II provides a time extension and a language clarification for billing purposes.  No additional compensation is being proposed. Amendment II has been approved by County Counsel and Risk Management.

Reason for Recommendation: Amendment II to the Agreement is necessary because the contract term expired on July 9, 2008 and a time extension is necessary to complete the project.  In addition, the contract language clarification contained in Amendment II is needed to process invoices and compensate the contractor.

Action to be taken following Board approval: Chairman to sign Amendment II to Agreement No. 066-S0811 and the Board Clerk will forward the original to Facilities and Fleet Services to complete the administrative process of the contract.
