The Tahoe Area Coordinating Council for the Disabled (TACCD) has advocated for the needs of the disabled in the South Lake Tahoe area since 1981. They have worked diligently to expand education and rehabilitation services, improved recreational opportunities, independent living training, created support groups, increased access at public and private facilities, for housing and with transportation.
The TACCD is to be commended for their tireless work advocating for the disabled.
RECOMMENDATION: Board approve Proclamation declaring October as Disability Awareness Month.
