Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: It is proposed to utilize $1,750 of the Department’s County General Fund dollars budgeted for that purpose to meet the cash match requirement if the application is funded.

Background:

Reason for Recommendation:
On August 16, 2007, the El Dorado County Office of Economic Development held a forum in the Georgetown Divide community to discuss barriers to community and economic development specific to that area. Community and County stakeholder groups subsequently formed to assess concerns that were identified at the forum. The overall goal of the stakeholders is to identify methods to stimulate private sector investment and sustainable economic development growth in the identified business sectors of destination, recreation, equine, bed and breakfast, and outdoor backpacking.
