Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: The additional funding represents a reallocation of funds available within the AHRQ award, and results in no cost to the County.

Background: In 2006, Marshall Medical Center and El Dorado County collaborated on and were awarded the AHRQ Technology Implementation Grant. A portion of this grant was set aside to establish technology infrastructure that will permit high-speed connectivity between participating organizations (i.e., Marshall Medical Center, Barton Memorial Hospital, EDCCHC and County agencies) for the purpose of sharing and exchanging clinical information.

Public Health worked with County Information Technology Department identifying the need for an IT Project Manager and determined the work would be best done through an outside contractor; EDCCHC was willing to host the project activities. As operational agent for the grant, Public Health proposed funding the IT Project Manager through EDCCHC. The original one year Agreement commenced July 18, 2006 and established a not-to-exceed amount of $120,000. Amendment I extended the term through September 30, 2008 and increased the not-to-exceed amount to $215,000.
