Presentation of Proclamation to The Honorable Jerald "Jerry" M. Lasarow, El Dorado County Court Judge, Honoring his Retirement and 30-Years of Public Service.

WHEREAS, the Honorable Jerald "Jerry" M. Lasarow, El Dorado County Court Judge, is retiring after 30 years of public service; and,
 
WHEREAS, Judge Lasarow began his El Dorado County career in 1979 as an Assistant District Attorney before being elected to the Municipal Court in 1990, and elevated to the position of Superior Court Judge in 1998, serving in the South Lake Tahoe division; and,
 
WHEREAS, Judge Lasarow is dedicated to community service as past president of the Lions Club, honored as "Lion of the Year", as member of the Kiwanis Club, and in the courtroom presiding over the South Lake Tahoe Teen Court Program proactively helping at-risk youth, and as a proponent of intervention programs like the Adult Felony Drug Court addressing issues of substance abuse; and,
 
WHEREAS, Judge Lasarow has been so successful in his tenure on the bench that he has never been opposed in a re-election bid; and,
 
WHEREAS, Jerry is an impassioned cyclist, beginning this hobby at the age of 50 years and continuing it as a 12-year member of the Sacramento Wheelman, 700-members strong; and,
 
WHEREAS, it is evident that the distinguished service and career of Judge Jerry Lasarow has contributed greatly to the betterment of the people and community in the County of El Dorado and beyond.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, that the Board of Supervisors for the County of El Dorado does herewith recognize and appreciate the dedicate service of Judge Jerald M. Lasarow and the significant contribution to law and justice he has made.
 
RECOMMENDATION:  Approve Proclamation.
