Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: There is no change in funding associated with this amendment.
 
Background: The Public Health Department, in collaboration with the Department of Human Services and the El Dorado County Superior Court, oversees the Dependency Drug Court Program, which provides treatment for parents whose substance abuse contributes to child abuse and/or neglect resulting in involvement with juvenile court dependency proceedings.  Funding for this program is provided by a Comprehensive Drug Court Implementation Agreement from the Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs.  
 
Reason for Recommendation: This amendment extends the term of funding for the Dependency Drug Court Program to December 31, 2007.  It is retroactive to June 30, 2007 due to late receipt of grant amendment documents from the State.
 
Action to be taken following Board approval: Chair to sign three copies of the attached amendment; Board Clerk's Office to return executed amendment to Public Health; Department to forward documents to State for final execution; Department to receive fully executed documents from the State, copy & forward to Board Clerk's Office.
